GuestHaus Residency is the inaugural site for Rebecca Bruno’s homeLA, a program that offers independent performance artists an opportunity to use the architecture of local homes to activate their artistic visions and engage diverse audiences. For this first iteration of homeLA, artists will present work exploring the physical, political, social, and emotional landscapes of domestic space drawing inspiration from an expansive modern home in Mount Washington.

Thinking Dance Archives

Interdisciplinary dance and performance studies scholars Jaime Shearn Coan and Tara Aisha Willis and movement-based artist taisha paggett engage questions of performance and the archive. Inherent possibilities and failures that can happen when we look back over an artist’s career, engage in critical conversation in the present, and look towards artistic futures are considered. This evening brings together those with an interest in performance and archives with an optional movement offering.
